Pack a record or a stage with that many creative minds and you get Foodchain music, active, diverse and versatile, covering a wide range of subject matter from political to spiritual, and love songs about the elusive Uptown Girl.
While the concept of a “collective” is certainly nothing unfamiliar there’s something distinctive about Foodchain that’s garnering the praises and attention of the industry. As music savants in there own right, the group builds upon each others creative element which results in a distinct sound and lyrical content. The Foodchain’s sound delivers cinematic soulful wordplay over scores that range from the electrifyingly funk infused to rock & roll courtesy of the group’s in house production team.
Foodchain embodies the authentic elements of the Hip-Hop culture. The endangered vinyl scratching DJ to the live instrumentation used in production, to the M.C’s wordplay fused together in pure harmony. Their cooperative branding and resounding sound embodies all that music has been at best, all that it is, and all that it can be. Foodchain isn’t searching to be the top of the Hip-Hop food chain, but a product of it and all the elements that make good music survive the test of time.
